Event Description
Camping along scenic Highway 70 in Twain, CA. Fall asleep to the rumbling of the trains, soak in Woody's Hot Spring nearby. Hallsted Campground (NFS). Site 13 is home. Reservations are available at www.recreation.gov. Type in Hallsted. Many folks are willing to double up. June 4 update: Booked so far are: 7-15 and 17-19. Recommend 20. Avoid 16 if you want privacy.Raffle of prizes and potluck Saturday afternoon-evening.

The hot springs are pretty sulphuric and there are no showers, so plan on a sponge bath in the bus afterward! Also, it tends to be clothing optional...

Good site! So we have a core so far of 13, 14, 15. I recommend the following sites: 9,10,11,12 (wide open, small driveway), 17 & 19. Avoid 16 (no privacy, next to restrooms). Camp host is at 18. IIRC.

Okay - I took site 11 for Saturday night. Not sure if we'll make it in Friday night or not. As it gets closer, I'll know that. Can't wait!
