VW Camper Family

A camping forum for VW bus and camper owners.

I just go turned on to the site yesterday and joined.

I'm from Coastal Carolina, I'm active in the Full Moon Bus Club. My daily driver chores are shared by my '69 Westy and my two bicycles.

Besides the FMBC, we also have a bus club called the Wilmington Vee Dub Club, and we host an annual campout called The Rides of March aka TROM.

Well, to keep things short, I'm going to try to post a couple of photos of my bus. The first one was taken when I picked her up in July of 2005 and the second one is at Everybus in October of 2009 about 3 weeks after she came back from rust repair, seal replacement, and interior/exterior paint.

Well, anyway, hello.

Hello!

Are there website links for TROM and the Wilmington Vee Dub Club? I'll add them to the event list on the main page.

Thanks for joining the conversation.

Unfortunately, we don't have a website for TROM at this time. It is scheduled for the first weekend of March. We are trying to get our website going again, but too many real life issues like buying that new parcel tray for my bus are getting in the way. So, I just make sure that I talk it up on the websites where bus people are hanging out. We have a lot to do at our campout, we always have good music, and we're only a 30 minute drive from the sea shore, so most people know about us around here.

Everyone here is also welcome to join the Wilmington Vee Dub Club facebook group... Here is the link. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=188036713541&ref=nf

FMBC seems like a really cool club. I went to a Nortel school in Raleigh, really liked the area but all the tall trees freaked me out...lol!!! Really like your bus.
Thanks Aaron. Tall trees huh.

The photo above is of Greg Smith's bus. He now lives in Seattle.
I also have a '69 and my name is Greg too, but mine doesn't have an FMBC sticker on the windshield.

But yeah, the FMBC is a fantastic club. Last year was the 11th anniversary. I'm sure glad my wife decided I should have a Eurovan... my cousin drives it now. I only have room for one Transporter in the garage. I came across the bus club while shopping for that vehicle.

Anyhow, I was pretty stoked when I came across this club/family too. We've been planning a trip to the Pacific NW, hopefully in August of 2011, and there seems to be quite a few bus drivers from that are on this forum which is awesome because a place near Washington that rents Vanagons and that's how we plan on getting around whenever we make the trip.

Thanks for the welcome!

Greg

Thanks for putting TROM on the calendar. Free coffee for anyone who comes from at least 600 miles away. Oh yeah, everyone gets free coffee anyway. How about if we let you win at Bocce Ball? hahaha. Bocce is the official FMBC sport.

Anyway, thanks again.
