VW Camper Family

A camping forum for VW bus and camper owners.

We just had our first Full Moon Bus Club Camp Out of the year at Edisto Beach State Park in South Carolina.  It's been pretty far below average temps, but we had a really great time anyway.  Here are some photos for ya'll.

This camp out is hosted by Snoopy, one of the FMBC founders.

btw: I'm the guy on the right in the top picture. And my bus is the white early bay westfalia.
used to live down in Berkeley County ~ Loved, loved to go down to Edisto, when the chance came around ~ Looks like ya'll had a good time...even if it was too horrid cold...
It was not only cold, but it was windy too. This was by far the worst winter I've lived through in my eight years here in the South East.
~ ! ~ Ok, so you probably don't want to know about the time there was a Spring Snow while we lived down there...right ~ ? ~

I'm trying to guess. 1992? I remember a huge Noreaster that came up one March. I was living in WV then and we had a giant blizzard from it. I'm pretty sure it was one of those early ninety years.

>> Oh, I think your right ~ I remember it really well, 'cause at the time our oldest was in middle school, & I went w/his class to channel 3 down in Mt. Pleasant to the weather station...an, totally without thinking, I'm looking at this cloud line rolling in, an'say, "Oh look, that's a snow cloud coming..." (We'd moved from Conn. 3 years earler..) an' within less than 10 minutes- boom, here's the snow. The tv weather person was irritated to see that someone "showed him up" (he came over & said so...but talked quietly to me at least..) - Then on the way home it snowed like crazy ~ We had a wood cookstove in our house, so it was nice & cozy inside!! But I don't think I'm brave enuf to do campin' in that kinda cold!!
