Saddle up Volks!
VWCF is going to the foothills near Lake Oroville at Lime Saddle Campground. This place is beautiful this time of year whilst it's still green and the wildflowers are out. Soon after, this place is parched and HOT. LS is fairly new, with flush commodes and showers. There's a nice short trail amongst the oaks with an explosion of wildflowers. If you have a boat there's a marina nearby.
The old VWCF adage holds - Bring firewood. Bring tasty beverages. Bring a friend. Have fun.
hope to see you there!
What do we know about this CG. Should I (we) look for a certain section to congregate?
Interested in going, unless the economy crashes and the lights go out by then! Is there a group of campsites to aim for?
what Regis said. This might be a link to the campsites available:

There is a CG map that is an inset to the Oroville map. Lime saddle looks to a smaller area so probably not a bad site per se. I'm thinking on somewhere on the farthest loop. High 20's low 30's. if memory serves. I'll check the map again later

Upper left is what I've found so far.
I grabbed site 7 for two nights. The ResCal site is easy enough. Used Lake Oroville as the destination . Then it splits into the separate campgrounds.
Dang Regis!
You snapped up a campsite before I could. I apologize for not picking a spot when the event was created. You’re in the area with full hookups. I call the area The Terraces, the sites have awesome views. There’s other no hookup sites for $25. Sites here are spread out in groups on the hills. I was looking at the Site 42 or 27 Spur areas. Should we all camp in the same general area?
Yeah. I saw that there are clusters of sites. I chose #7 for the hookups in case anyone needs to charge up or cook if there's a pot luck. Plus #7 looks to have some shade at the rear. No matter where yinz end up, I don't think it'd be much of a walk to wherever party central is located. As a first timer to Lime Saddle, the initial site isn't important. The recon for future outings is what matters to me.
I’m in site #36. A little ways from Regis, but not too far. Didn’t need electric, and I’m staying for three nights.
Looking forward to seeing you all!
I've tried to communicate with the State Parks to see if there's a senior discount available before I make my own reservation. I'll keep you geezers posted.
