Event Description
We are going back to Sandy Beach in Rio Vista, CA. This is our annual practice run and food fest before Thanksgiving. Reserve sites soon as they may go fast if the sport fishermen/women come back this year.
Party Central will be at spot #4.

I have acquired the bird. It weighs in at 13.82 pounds. Just under the 14 pound maximum for the 22" Weber grille. It will be thawing peacefully in my fridge for the rest of the week.

How could you possibly know that? Are you sitting on a shelf inside the refrigerator monitoring the thawing?

It could very well be tap dancing and singing "Yankee Doodle Dandy" while thawing, which would certainly rule out "peacefully".

I assure you, it is quite frozen. And I do have a thermometer. It is not flopping and fighting its demise. Unlike the Sarah Palin video of 2008 where she stood in front of live turkey draining stations at a turkey farm.

Note to everybody: it looks like Joe was right, and that there'll be a bit of rain on Saturday and Sunday. The show will go on, and we'll have lotsa tentage for socializing and cooking. So don't let a little rain ruin our parade.

Thanks Gene. We are meeting the couple we are going with tonight to discuss food ideas, but as far as gear, we know that we are bringing a 2 burner stove, 2 crockpots, and some pudgie pie makers. Sounds like stuffing still hasn't been called, so we'll talk about that. Otherwise, we will probably bring a bunch of appetizers, hot and cold, and some meat to grill.
