Our annual escape from Superbowl Madness. It will be our usual set-up .... wine, food, companionship (bring the wine and bring or buy the wood). Also, musical instruments are welcome, and maybe we can jam a little.
Friday night is pizza night ... bring your little Coleman camp ovens or use ours, and make and bake an 8" pizza. (You provide ingredients, of course.)
On Saturday, the legendary 'Soup or Bowl' competition will take place once again! Here's how it works: Prepare a batch of something hot and delicious to share that can be served in a bowl. Some examples would be chili, stew, Jambalaya, a hearty soup or anything else that's yummy. Bring your entry to the serving table no later than 4:00 pm. Using ballots, all attendees will rank the entries from best to the not-so-best. Those with the most votes will receive *VALUABLE PRIZES*, a snazzy ribbon and eternal bragging rights. Runner-ups will also receive a snazzy ribbon along with the honor vested to participants. If you want to contribute something but cooking is just not possible, bring a dessert or garlic bread or wine. We do like our wine. If you don't wish to cook something or bring along something, that's fine too! Just bring along your own bowl and your own spoon and wine glass. We need your votes!
(Suggestion: muffin tins make great sampling trays)
Party Central will be spot #4. As usual, it will be rain or shine, and if it's rainy, the Tent of Doom and the Annex of Despair will keep us all dry.
Three more things: Be aware that there are wild critters (raccoons, feral cats, etc.) that will go into any open camper that you're not around. So be sure to keep your doors closed.
Second, Brett made a little video about what kind of adapter you need if you want to use the AC outlets that are at every site (for free!). Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOF7aCUfwZ0
Third, the Solano County Parks reservation system has been a little wonky of late. Some people have had trouble making ther reservations online. If this happens to you, just call the number listed above and the very nice people will take your reservation over the phone. BTW, from what I can get from their web site, reservations are now REQUIRED... first-c0me-first-served sites are no longer available.
Joe & Corey are in #15
I'm in #11
The Marlows will be in #3
I'm on the Sandy Beach reservations site now. Joe, I'm curious but it looks like site 15 is still available for reservation. After all the problems I had reserving for 4/20, just thought I'd speak up. Better check your reservation?
Good idea for everybody, I think. As long as you have a confirmation email from Solano County, you should be OK. If not, check with the park at the number above and talk to a human.
I've reserved #13
We'll be in 18.
Looks like it's filled up. we're a maybe if someone has a spot to share?
You can share with me, Doug.
