Replacement for AIRS (Air-cooled Interstate Rescue Squad) site

As some of you probably know or have realized, the AIRS list has been dead for some time. However a new site has appeared which could potentially fill that void, and unlike the (dead) AIRS site, users are able update their own information! Welcome to 2004--what a world.

Anyway, check it out if you're inclined:

So cool! i forgot about AIRS. makes so much sense now that we have smart phones.

I actually printed out the old list like 15 years ago and used it on a road trip.

Another one, Eurocentric and somewhat more confusing, though probably better on a phone:

As far as I know the AIRS list is still up and I'm still on it.

I get a few calls each year for help or advise and if you are traveling in NW Wyoming and need such call me.

Well, the site may be up, and you may be still on it, but the point is that whoever runs it apparently doesn't respond to requests to change one's information on it. It was last updated just over four years ago, so how accurate can it be?
For fun I just now tried--again--to edit my info and the 'Edit My Info' button doesn't even work. In other words, it's for all practical purposes dead. Not that they're perfect, but the beauty of these new lists is that you control your own information. Web 2.0 vs. Web 1.0, rah rah rah.

Looks like a good start.  Hopefully more and more people will sign up.  I signed up and put my info on the site but I couldn't help but notice there are 3 (now 4 people) in Colorado but on the AIRS site there are 106.  I'd say the odds are better still on the AIRS site. But good to have more then one out there.

Does anyone really know the person who posted/made this site?  I've been contacted asking for personal information.

I second-order know him. From the site, under 'About':

Yeah, that's the one mentioned in the very first post up there, the reason for this thread in fact.

Ok, I did not see the link to it for some reason; I posted the link more for selfish reasons than anything else, so I knew where to find it since I am always breaking my laptops and losing all my info  ;)
