Event Description

Greetings.  It's that time again.  What time you ask ?  Well, it's time for the Fantastically Fantastic Fullbelly Fall Food Fest.  Sandy Beach CG in Rio Vista is the place to be.  As of this writing, the Campground has lots of spots .  Party Central can be at site #4.   Rain or shine.  There may or may not be shelter for us to hunker down under but more on that as we get closer.  We'll have the usual pot luck on Saturday around 3pm since it'll be getting dark around 5ish.  Generate more chatter in the comment section.

Remember the motto..  Bring Wood-Bring Wine.  Oh, and perhaps some food for Saturday.

Hi Lev, you and me are in the same one-night boat of part-timers. Unfortunately, "This site requires Friday and Saturday to be booked together"

Currently at the usual north end of things, sites 3,6,7,8,10,12 and 15 are showing free for Fri & Sat. I would happily book and go shares on 15, but I won't be there on the Friday, and I'm not sure if the park would cancel my stay if I'm a no-show on Fri. Does anyone know the rules on that?

Comment by Richard von Bristol on Tuesday

Assuming Friday no-show will be ok I can book a site for 2 nights for $89 using license plate RENTAL. A second vehicle will be charged $10 if they catch it on the Sat/Sun. So that works out at $45 or $50 each for Saturday night if you are up for that Lev? "Half Price!" for both of us?

Nobody's talked about the turkey yet. I can't be relied on to do the grilling, since my wife will be recovering from surgery at that time. But what we did last year was buy a fully-cooked turkey breast from Trader Joe's, and heat it up on-site. It served three people nicely. It might be an option for this year, although we'll probably need three of them.

I'm in site 15 (traditionally Joe & Corey's spot). Sharing welcome and encouraged. I may come Fri eve, though I still have nightmares about the Fri pm Bay Area traffic, so may arrive Sat morning. I'm looking forward to seeing folks again, and I hope JLT will be making an appearance. Thank you Regis for organising.

I'm cooking a 12-13# bird with an electric roaster oven.  I'll try to make gravy as well.

Another friendly reminder about Sandy Beach is they're kinda strict on the 2pm check in time.  They will likely have you park outside the CG until the proper time.  Just sayin'

That, just sayin', was for those of you coming for Saturday only.

I'm also planning to smoke a Brisket.

…last time, he was at the Hollister Ralley.

Can we have camp fires?

I have lots of wood from wine barrels.

I'm bringing mac and cheese to share:)

I can't think of a reason why there'd be a fire ban at Sandy Beach.  And as far as what spot is Party central, I at first posted site 4, just because that's where it's been before.  But it can be anywhere convenient as long as the site holder agrees.  That can be worked out while we're there.  Fingers crossed for good weather.
