Greetings. It's that time again. What time you ask ? Well, it's time for the Fantastically Fantastic Fullbelly Fall Food Fest. Sandy Beach CG in Rio Vista is the place to be. As of this writing, the Campground has lots of spots . Party Central can be at site #4. Rain or shine. There may or may not be shelter for us to hunker down under but more on that as we get closer. We'll have the usual pot luck on Saturday around 3pm since it'll be getting dark around 5ish. Generate more chatter in the comment section.
Remember the motto.. Bring Wood-Bring Wine. Oh, and perhaps some food for Saturday.
It looks like the weather gods will be smiling on us this weekend. No showers predicted until Sunday.
I saw an update on the Caltrans link that the scheduled bridge closure has been postponed. Can anyone back that up ?
Confirmed - bridge shall remain open. Source: Caltrans and Rio Vista websites.
Note to Jane. Lev took site 2. Room for one more there. Thanks again
I am happy to report that it looks most probable that I will be able to come to the event and stay for a few hours (at least until sunset). I'll bring a bottle of wine and maybe some bread-like objects.
Regis, thank you so much for organizing this popular event! It was so good to see everyone:)
Is someone hosting the soup or bowl?
Home now. Unloaded. Unpacked. Things put away. Cleaned up. Hair neatly combed. Well.. that was fun. A big thank you to the fifteen or so that came to gather . The assortment of vehicles was interesting. We had ford, chevy, dodge, Nissan, Mercedes and the Volkswagens. The ( Family ) is expanding. A Big shout out to Scott who provided the shelters and a delicious smoked brisket. Didja see the size of that smoke ring ? I had a good time. Some work and some play. Even 'ol Trooper warmed up to me. John was able to visit on Saturday and entertained us with wine and song. I believe the long distance award goes to Richard. Swimming across the pond, hitch hiking across the States to grab a van in Hayward just to join us is no small feat. He smuggled in a bottle of the U.K.' finest scotch of which he poured generously. A young lady from Wash St took second. And our very own Gene cruising up from Morro Bay came in third. And ah.. the food. Yes the food. Once again there was food a plenty. Beef, poultry, Mac n cheese, potatoes, gravy, salad, bread, scones and some pie. It's not a stretch to say we all had a full belly. Saturday night brought on a few raindrops and the shelter helped. I tapped out early. As I laid my head down to rest , listening to the chatter around the campfire only assured me that we are family. I look forward to another GTG with you all. I'll post a couple pcs. Peace, ~R
