Event Description

Join us in the scenic and historic Feather River Canyon at Hallsted Campground in the Plumas National Forest.

We have a full house. ALL SITES HAVE BEEN RESERVED as of May 17. There is one non-reservable site you can take a chance on. Otherwise, check the comment wall to see if someone wants to share. The recreation.gov link is below:

Hallsted Campground

The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a real treat!

Those looking for hot springs can find them a couple miles up the road. Formerly known as "Woody's", they are now associated with an RV and cabin establishment. I think you need to call ahead and there is a $5 fee. Details here:

Looks like I will have two with me - my niece (15) and nephew (17) from Texas. It will be confirmed some time next week.

I'll be kidless this trip. Just me and the Westy.

15 & 17 are really not kids. They're just short adults!

Hello!  Is anyone open to sharing?  My daughter Sonia had a boy June 1 so Elena and I would like to join in.

Werner, I am already doubled up in our space.

Weather in the 90's for the event, bring shade, water, and swimming pools

Thanks Bruce ... things will work out ... we mostly just go with the flow of life ;-)

Those of you planning to do some actual TrainSpotting may want to download this brochure. It describes 7 of the coolest railroad sites to see in Plumas County. The Keddie Wye is nearby to the campground. I can help you locate the Williams Loop and most of the other sites. I can even bore you with a Western Pacific/Feather River Canyon RR guide book and a DVD. I'll bring it along.

Thanks WW, although I couldn't get the link to work. So I found another:

I can share site #6 but the other van/bus will need to back in first. I'm going to be taking off for a while to celebrate a friend's 50 birthday up in Lake Almanor, can't be blocked in.

I'm running solo that weekend, no wife or kids.

Hello Scott ... Elena and I would love to share your spot if it's still open ... no problem with our being in the back ... thank you
