On March 31, 1965, I almost died. Every day since then has been a day I didn't deserve. It's been a gift, and I've had almost fifty years of them. I'd like to celebrate these gifts with some other gifts I've been given over the years ... the friendships I've collected from some of the most wonderful people I've had the pleasure to know. I don't know where this will be, exactly. That will depend on weather and how many people RSVP. But it will probably be within an hour's drive from Sacramento,…See More
SAVE THE DATE! "Roughing it Easy" theme based on the book of the same name by Dian Thomas. The name of the event is a double entendre, as folks would have the choice of cooking in a cast iron pan or dutch oven over an open fire (Roughing It) or walking to the Mosquito cafe and market for a meal with no cooking involved (Easy).Cooking over an open fire is a skill some of us have lost as we have migrated to specialized outdoor cooking gear. Let's get back to basics. Bring your cast iron skillets…See More

Young's Market in T'Ville will be celebrating the 100th year of operation of their National Cash Register. "The little old lady of Taylorsville street" Very nearby is a lovely well-maintained campground with hot showers, nice facilites, on the river. Grassy sites lots of room. Relatively close to the world famous Williams Loop on the Feather…See More
Hi Kris, nice to meet you also and the some members of the camper family.... I came by to say good bye this morning, but by the time I woke up, half the campground was emptied! Lulu and I like to sleep in! We had a great drive home and I think I was smiling all the way home--(love my vanagon--the Omagon)--except when this knarly motorcycle guy drove by and cursed me for driving under the speed limit--oh well, guess I need to get used to that.....see you at the next campout!.... happy journey...Z
