Event Description

Join us in the scenic and historic Feather River Canyon at Hallsted Campground in the Plumas National Forest.

We have a full house. ALL SITES HAVE BEEN RESERVED as of May 17. There is one non-reservable site you can take a chance on. Otherwise, check the comment wall to see if someone wants to share. The recreation.gov link is below:

Hallsted Campground

The Historic Feather River Railroad route runs on the opposite side of the river from the campground. Trains climb and descend the grade at all hours-you will be falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engines and the squeal of steel wheels on the tracks. If you have never driven through the Feather River Canyon, it is a real treat!

Those looking for hot springs can find them a couple miles up the road. Formerly known as "Woody's", they are now associated with an RV and cabin establishment. I think you need to call ahead and there is a $5 fee. Details here:

Knee deep huh? Now I'm wondering if there'll be ANY water with our drought and all

FYI, Just printed the event posters, they came out pretty good. I printed enough for everyone to get one 11x17 poster.

Man, I've got to get my AC working in the van. Might have to leave at O'dark thirty on Friday to beat the heat getting out of the valley. Anyone passing through Sacramento, I suggest doing it early!

Randy, There are some fire roads in the area that you can do out an back rides on your single speed. I'm going to take my cross bike and ride a longer loop to Quincy. Here's one possible route. It's 1/2 dirt and 1/2 paved.

I can point you to some good road when we are at the campground.

Whelp.  Put me on the has-been list.  Family and work double trumps play time.

This means site 16 is WFO from Thursday thru Sunday.  It has electric and I think water.

Bring a Tent, A/C , Blender, Disco ball, Karaoke, Movie projector, Tiki bar, Hula dancers, yourselves and have some fun.  Throw in some festoon lighting and it's all good.  At least that's what I was gonna do.

I look forward to pic's.

Anyone can PM me for the deets to the site, but basically I'm donating it to yinz.

First come first served.

Peace,
